Upon receiving the unit, an estimate of labor & parts costs is relayed to owner for approval. At that time a credit card number and shipping information is obtained.
Most units ship within 24 hours as we maintain a supply of parts for the most models.

It is preferred that customers call prior to shipping unit due to past history of being able to fix problem over the phone saving time and money for you, the customer.


DOES YOUR ORB LOOK LIKE THIS ?

It's important that you clean the orb after every bath for 30-60 minutes with the proper cleaning solution and replace any or all of the components as necessary. Leaving the cable connected, lower the Orb and Mohawk into the solution as this will prolong the cable contacts also.


OR LIKE THIS ORB ?
dirty-orb This Orb Example has not been taken care of properly for a long time. To maintain your system in optimum condition, it is important to clean it, preferably after every use.
Cleaning Product suggested: CLR(Calcium, Lime and Rust) in a solution 1:1 (1 parts water/1 part CLR)

ORB Refurbishing fee of $30.00 plus PARTS (if needed),
plus shipping, handling and insurance.

    Orb Cleaning Instructions…
  1. Rinse off thoroughly and vigorously in the sink to remove all build up
  2. Place the Orb/Array into the cleaning solution for between 5 to 10 minutes after every session
  3. CLR is mixed 1:1, half CLR, half water, in as small container as possible, with sealable lid
  4. Judge the actual time by the amount of dirt on the Orb/Array
  5. Leaving it in the solution for longer than necessary will cause excessive wear
  6. You can and may leave the cable attached while soaking the Orb/Array in the cleaning solution. However at times, it may be better of being detached from the Orb/Array and the Orb Connector end of the cable placed into the solution next to the Orb. This will help get to the dirt inside the cable connector
  7. Once clean, rinse off, under luke warm water, no hotter than your hands can handle
  8. Leave to dry before putting it away
Please note: If the Orb has not been cleaned for weeks or months, it may be necessary to soak the Orb in the cleaning solution overnight. This may/will wear your orb un-necessarily.

This solution can be re-used many times and should be replaced when it is no longer effective. Check the Orb/Array regularly. A lightly marked Orb/Array may clean completely in an hour. A heavily marked Orb/Array may take up to 48 hours. It is advised to check every few hours. Variations in time occur due to water used, measurements and the amount of marking on the Orb/Array.

Please note: All ARRAYS are now repaired in-house.
We will inspect unit for parts necessary to put the unit into "like new" condition. Prior to refurbishing your Array, we will call you for authorization and credit card number.
Typical turn-around time is approximately 48-72 hours.

POWER SUPPLY REPAIR
q2 power supply
There are several models of power supplies that have evolved since the original BEFE was marketed in 1996. In the order of origination we have the 3006, 3024, 2100, 2500, 3100, 4105, q46. Current Models: q47, q36 and q 26.

The repair labor, regardless of model, repair costs vary:
Repair rates are: $80.00/hour, 1 hour minimum.

WHEN DO I REPLACE RINGS AND TRACK OR CABLE?

Regularly inspect the Rings and Track within the orb. Replace the Rings and Track when visibly pitted and or worn or when the edges or thickness have been visibly affected. Note that the more corroded the Rings and Tracks become, the less effective they are. In the picture above, the second ring and track is at the stage at which we recommend that they should be replaced.

The second cable connector (Mohawk) from the left in the image shown, may require replacement. You should consider ordering a new cable at this stage. Don’t be tempted to add more 'conductive agent' at this stage in order to get the required conductivity. If the connections are not adequate, the unit will not function correctly and will decrease the life of the Orb considerably.

FACTORS AFFECTING THE LIFESPAN OF THE ORB:
The Rings and Tracks generally last 7 to 20 Sessions.
The Orb and Cable are considered consumables and has a limited lifespan.
    The factors affecting the lifespan include:
  • The frequency of use.
  • The water source; bore, tank or tap water. All these sources are continually changing conductivity. For example your local water authorities are testing water supplies daily and adding the required chemicals depending on their results. Tank water changes depending on pollution levels.
  • Whether a 'conductive agent' has been added and what type. Potassium Citrate (Food Grade) causes less wear on the Rings and Track compared to salt. Adding more 'conductive agent' when not required, due to insufficient connections, will cause premature degradation of the Orb.
  • Length of time in cleaning solution. Soak Orb components in solution for a minimum amount of time.
  • Running the unit at higher settings may degrade the Rings and Track prematurely.
  • Environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, altitude, proximity to radio/micro waves, other power sources, geographical and geological factors will affect the lifespan of the Orb while it is running.
  • The person having the session with the Q ENERGYspa.
HOW TO MAXIMIZE THE LIFESPAN OF: Your Orb, Cable and Power Supply orb-and-cable

Regularly, inspect the connections on the inside of the cable connector (the Mohawk) for oxidation and wear. Replace the Cable when visibly corroded and pitted.

The more corroded the stainless steel cable connectors are, the softer they become and hence the more likely they are to drop back and rest on the plastic. This can be remedied by inserting a small flat head screw driver or handle of a teaspoon behind the plate and while holding the point where the connector is attached, easing it forward.

    Only recommended as a last resort before ordering a replacement cable.
  • Run your unit at the recommended activity level.
  • Only add conductive agent when absolutely necessary and then just enough in order for the unit to operate. Please note that after just one session with too much conductive agent added, the life of the Orb and cable will deteriorate rapidly.
  • When cleaning, soak metal components to remove lime, rust and or scale. However, keep the time in the cleaning solution to a minimum.
  • Never polish or buff the Rings and Track, or centre module with any product.
  • Never subject the Orb or Cable Connector to water temperatures higher than bearable to your skin. Do NOT clean the Orb in boiling water, a Dishwasher or Autoclave.
  • Never file components in order to clean them. You may use a soft tooth brush or a soft plastic kitchen scour. Never scratch or dent the surfaces.
  • Always use the supplied carry bag for storage and transportation to avoid possible damage. Store in a dry, clean place. Be sure to unplug the Cable from the Power Supply when not in use.
  • Place unit away from foot traffic and other hazards while in use.
HOW TO MAINTAIN GOOD "CONNECTIONS"
  • Inspect the Orb connections on a regular basis.
  • Pay particular attention to the pins located in the Cable Plug that attaches to the Power Supply. Ensure they have not been corroded, bent or broken.
  • When the Cable is attached to the Orb, view through the side of the Mohawk to ensure firm connections with the Brass Rod protruding through the top of the Orb shell and the eyelet of the Positive Track on the side of the Orb. Also ensure that you keep these connections clean and free from corrosion.
  • Ensure that the Positive Track makes good connection with the Positive Rings.
  • For maximum efficiency, ensure that the Negative Copper Track (not the Copper Ring) connecting the two Negative Rings that form part of the Centre Module, is sitting opposite the Positive Track. Refer to Step 4 of the Orb assembly guide.
  • Ensure that the Top and Bottom Buttons are intact and firmly attached to the Brass Rods. If not, replace.
